KVC Behavioral HealthCare Missouri, Inc. (“KVC MO”) is making individuals aware of an event that may affect the privacy of certain information.  KVC MO is providing notice of the event so potentially affected individuals may take steps to better protect their information from misuse, should they feel it appropriate to do so.

What Happened?  On or about February 6, 2024, the KVC office located in Poplar Bluff, MO was broken into by a criminal actor.  During this incident, certain hardware was stolen.  KVC MO promptly reported the break-in to local law enforcement and is cooperating with their investigation.  KVC MO also initiated its own investigation to determine the potential scope and impact to client information stored on the stolen hardware.

What Information Was Involved? The personal information potentially affected varies by individual. The types of personal information may include: name, date of birth, contact information, demographic information, medical information and/or Social Security number.

What KVC Is Doing. We take this incident and the security of personal information in our care very seriously. Upon learning of this incident, we promptly reported the incident to law enforcement.  We also initiated our own investigation, assessed the security of our systems and notified potentially affected individuals. As part of our ongoing commitment to the security of information, we are reviewing and enhancing existing policies and procedures to reduce the likelihood of a similar future incident.

What You Can Do.  We encourage individuals to remain vigilant against incidents of identity theft and fraud by reviewing account statements and explanation of benefits and monitoring their free credit reports for suspicious activity and to detect errors.
