KVC Academy – Therapeutic K-12

K-12 Therapeutic Education in a Place Where Everyone Belongs

At KVC Academy, we provide an inclusive learning environment, embrace uniqueness and support all students as they transform into their full potential. It’s the finer details of our work that paint a brighter future for young people struggling with learning, mental health challenges or substance use disorders.

A Child’s Mental Wellness Is a Work of Art

Our inspired therapeutic education draws out the best in every student. Together, our behavior analysts, teachers and licensed clinical therapists deliver nurturing and structured education. Small class sizes and a curriculum comparable to a prestigious private school – combined with our nationally recognized behavioral therapies – ensure both learning and healing.

As a fully accredited K-12 academy and school of choice for youth with autism, our approach to therapeutic education delivers truly amazing results.

What Makes Us Unique?

KVC Missouri is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families, providing therapeutic education, preventing child abuse and neglect and helping people achieve mental wellness. With the broadest network of therapeutic educational services in the state and our expansive continuum of services, we have more than 20 locations statewide with regional hubs in St. Louis, Kansas City, Springfield, Columbia and St. James.

KVC Academy is expanding with new classrooms

As a national leader in mental health and child welfare, our exceptional continuum of services is paired with our legacy of caring. Our organization stretches back to the early 1800s with strong connections to individuals, families and communities across Missouri.

Through our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, we celebrate diversity in all its forms.

Our KVC Academies (also called day treatment) foster learning, growth and healing in a therapeutic school setting. We know that in order to learn and thrive, students must first feel safe and calm. Our trauma-informed team works to build trusting relationships with students and empowers them with individualized tools. KVC Academy is a unique learning environment where no one feels different, and students have the support they need to unlock their full potential.

At KVC Academy, we’re passionate about learning and providing the therapeutic support youth need to thrive. With a fresh, unique vision for each student, we’re painting bright, shining futures, filled with life and brimming with the possibilities and potential we see in each child.

How We Meet Each Student in Their Journey

We’re here for the child who feels out of place or struggles in traditional education settings. We’re here for the teen recovering from substance use disorder who needs a different approach to learning. Each student will find a warm, nurturing, structured learning environment where they can accomplish their goals. We’re here to equip and empower them with the tools needed to guide them through life’s obstacles.

Our evidence-based curriculum is at work on each of our eight campus locations. Our schools are approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Illinois Board of Education, and nationally accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS). So you can be confident each student is getting a high-quality education that adheres to the same demanding standards placed on the most prestigious private schools.
