Comprehensive Mental Health Day Treatment for Children and Teens

KVC Missouri’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) in Springfield, MO, provides structured, short-term mental health treatment for youth ages 8–17 who need intensive clinical support but do not require 24/7 inpatient care. This program, often called day treatment, helps stabilize youth in crisis while allowing them to return home each evening—supporting recovery without full hospitalization.

Our PHP serves as a vital step between inpatient hospitalization and traditional outpatient therapy, delivering expert care in a safe, therapeutic environment. Our Partial Hospitalization Program serves as a vital bridge—providing more structured support than traditional outpatient care, while offering a less intensive alternative to inpatient or residential treatment. It’s often the right next step after hospitalization or can be a powerful option when outpatient services alone aren’t enough to meet your child’s needs.

A Closer Look at Partial Hospitalization: Support Between Inpatient and Outpatient Care

A Partial Hospitalization Program offers full-day mental health treatment for children and teens experiencing significant behavioral or emotional challenges. The program is designed to provide intensive care while allowing youth to remain at home. Youth in PHP receive multiple therapy sessions each day, including group, individual and family therapy, along with psychiatric evaluation and medication management.
