Community-Based Services

Our community-based services are provided to children and families in homes, schools, and other community settings. They aim to strengthen families and help people achieve mental wellness.

Therapeutic Academies

KVC Missouri operates several private therapeutic K-12 schools, approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, offering youth a place to heal, learn and grow. Our trauma-informed team works to build trusting relationships with students and empowers them with individualized tools. We provide a unique learning environment where no one feels different, and students have the support needed to unlock their full potential.

Children’s Mental Health Residential Treatment

In residential treatment, youth receive intensive clinical services in a home-like environment with 24-hour supervision and support from trained clinicians and staff to help them overcome mental and behavioral health challenges. We offer two levels of treatment called Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTFs) and Qualified Residential Treatment Programs (QRTPs) in Kansas City, Columbia, Springfield and St. James. We’re also exploring the need to add children’s mental health hospitals in underserved areas of the state.
